Welcome to the Italian Restaurant SanGiovanni. Ristorante SanGiovanni opened on the 15th september 1988 and the restaurant has always been owned and managed by the Volpi family; Benthe, Giovanni and their sons Mikele and Daniele.
The Restaurant is named after Giovanni, with an addition of San, which means Saint and the whole name is Saint John in English. In Italy it is common to give your child a name after a saint and often the "nameday" is more important than the child´s birthday, and therefore it it not unususal to name a restaurant or shop after a saint or the name of the owner.
Ristorante SanGiovanni is accepted in both Danish restaurant guides and we have two stars in "Den Danske Spiseguide" for an authentic Italian kitchen.
Our winelist is one of the best i Denmark with a selection of more than 350 different Italian wines. All the wines are kept in our temperature controlled cellar below the restaurant. It is possible to arrange a visit to the cellar.
